LAKSHIMI CHITTY

Pre & Post Natal Specialist

One of the gift that Lakshimi have given herself is Yoga. It all started 22 years ago when Lakshimi's gynaecologist told her that I had 10 percent chance of getting pregnant due to a medical condition. Lakshimi was devastated and lost but never gave up. She took up yoga and practiced specially modified asanas for her condition and within 3 months she got pregnant with her first child in 1998. Lakshimi had to resign from my Airline job as she had issues with her early pregnancy. Lakshimi was required to be on complete rest for the first 3 months of pregnancy. She took up pregnancy yoga and altered certain poses to strengthen the back muscle and also
learnt yogic breathing which helped her in handling her labor pain without any epidural. Lakshimi have three children and she practiced Pregnancy Yoga throughout her three pregnancies and gave birth to her wonderful children without any difficulties or medical problems. Lakshimi decided to gain more knowledge on Yoga so has to share with the rest of the people around her to enjoy the benefit of yoga.
In the year 2000, Lakshimi did her basic and intermediate Yoga course at Ramakrishna mission in Singapore. Thereafter, she started teaching Yoga on a voluntary basis at Ramakrishna Mission itself and as well as Grass Root Clubs.
Lakshimi am also trained by Vivekananda Yoga Centre, Bangalore, India which has a branch in Singapore and passed with distinction. She did one month attachment in the year 2004 with one of the most popular Yoga Centre, Shivananda Yoga School in Chennai, India, to learn more on Yoga postures and Meditation.
During this time, Lakshimi did some studies on Pregnancy Yoga and wrote a report on the most effective posture for Pregnancy. By the very act of being nurtured in her womb, her children taught her first-hand just what is involved in the process of pregnancy and given her the knowledge to share with others.
In the year 2005,  Lakshimi did my Pilates Mat and Ball programme with Spencer Pilates and was certified as a Pilates Instructor. This helped Lakshimi to teach ladies Post Natal Yoga and Pilates to lose that extra weight they gained during their pregnancy.
In the year 2006, Lakshimi did her Diploma in Yoga Therapy with Vivekananda Yoga Centre and passed with 1st division. Lakshimi so glad that she did this as she could give yoga poses to people with medical condition to make them feel better without much pain killers and medication.
"I love yoga and I love teaching yoga"

“Yoga is not a religion. It is a science, science of well-being, science of youthfulness, science of integrating body, mind and soul.”
